OK. So I'm gonna take a wild stab in the dark and assume that most people have heard about the taxi driver that got killed.
Well now, understandably, the other drivers want to have taxi's made more secure by adding cameras and other security measures into the cars.
We can all agree that this would be a smart idea. UNLESS we know the fine print. If the government decides to put money into these private organisations (which are meant to fund themselves) the money will be OUR money, the tax payers money.
To put it simply, the government is deciding whether or not to put hundreds of thousands of TAX PAYERS money into the cab buisinesses.
One of my friends was a taxi driver at one point, for security in his cab he had his own little camera hidden and a metal plate in the drivers seat. Didn't cost him much and he was safe.
Maybe the taxi drivers should try that approach rather that trying to use all our hard earned money so no more (most likely illegal) immagrants can be safe in their cars.
